KATRINA MISSION’S
MOBILE UNIT SUPPORT
The Diocese of Louisiana supports a Mobile Unit that
is serving a vital community need. The Diocesan Deacons
are forming Pastoral Listening Teams with the Trinity
Counseling and Training Center to provide counselors.
They are working with a psychiatrist from New Hampshire
to establish a rotation of visiting professionals; and
they are reassigning their chaplain to manage the
program. Their vision is to return to the Lower 9th
Ward full time to re-establish the church’s presence.
They are well known there by the residents and can be
most effective in reaching out to people.
They need to raise $125,000 for ’08 to keep this
program, please consider adopting this ministry with
your financial support.
KATRINA MISSION’S TRUCK
The Diocese of Lousiana's uses a box
truck for delivering
respite care items in New Orleans (bottled water,
instant food, toilet paper, cleaning supplies).
Their truch expired a week after we returned in March
2007. We were fortunate enough to find just what they
needed in a short period of time. Two families from our
mission trip team generously loaned us the money at no
interest to purchase the truck and they also each
donated $1,000 toward the purchase. We have since
raised the funds to complete the purchase and Cathy
Cambridge and Ed Keeling delivered the truck. Thank you
all for your support.
