Deacon Sheila was a member of the first class of (vocational) deacons ordained on December 5, 2009 in Delaware . She has a BA in music from the U of D, a MS in Pastoral Care/Spiritual Direction from Neumann University, and a Certificate in Theological Study from LTSP. Sheila will serve as deacon in our liturgies and the main thrust of her ministry will be outreach. She plans to work in programs sponsored by Friendship House with emphasis on programs at Epiphany House. She is married to Richard and they have three adult daughters and three grandchildren. In 2006, she became a Professed Member of the Anamchara Fellowship and her religious name is Sister Sheila Brigid. Her outside interests include singing, reading, and making Anglican Rosaries.

Job Description

Immanuel Church is a singing parish, one that understands the importance of music as prayer.  Immanuel enjoys a rare breadth and wealth of musical styles and idioms, valuing the traditional while welcoming the new.  People of all ages and abilities give musical expression to their faith as they sing in our all-volunteer choirs, or play an instrument, or simply add their voice to the singing of hymns, spiritual songs and service music.

Phillip is a voice specialist,  associate of the Order of the Holy Cross, a spiritual guide, and retreat facilitator. He is interested in cross-cultural studies and inter-religious dialogue and is a graduate of Shalem's Spiritual Guidance Program. He is in the office from 8:30am to 1:30pm, Monday through Friday answering the phone, prepariing Sunday bulletins, preparing and publishing the Parish weekly newsletter, (the Highland's Voice), keeping the books and publishing the financial reports, oh and managing the property.

Britta Bimbi

Britta is the Sunday School Superintendent, the Vacation Bible School Coordinator and Youth Group Leader.  She loves coming up with new and exciting ways to show children and youth the amazing things God can do!  Britta also leads "Safe Kids" training sessions throughout the diocese.  Outside of church, she enjoys her job as a basketball official for the local high schools and middle schools in New Castle County and Cecil County, MD.  Britta is a huge sports fan and loves all sports but she especially loves the Phillies and the Broncos.  In her "spare time", she attends the University of Delaware and will graduate this year!
